Ramadan Day 10

'A' spent 10 years in the military and saw his country torn apart by terrorists. Now he teaches Arabic, and on the weekends tries to run from the memories by drinking and partying. He’s never had a dream or vision, but would like for God to speak to him in a miraculous way. He knows he’s not a “good Muslim” and hopes that someday he can be, but he thinks that he has to fix his problems on his own before he can approach God. He even has an Arabic Bible but just can’t seem to find the time to read it.

Pray:

• That he would find no satisfaction in worldly things and see that only God can heal the hurt inside of him.


• That God would speak to him in a dream or a vision, and that he would read the Bible to find words of life, power, and healing.


• That he would accept the sacrifice Christ made for him even while he was still a sinner, and allow the Holy Spirit to change him radically from the inside out.

An Interesting Find . . .

I recently read the book "Infidel." It has given me great insights into how Muslims view non-Muslims, and European's in general. This article also discusses a few of the same ideas discussed in the book. I highly recommend the book, but if you don't have the time, this article touches on some good points from the book-minus the Christian worldview as the author of "Infidel" is an atheist. Ramadan Day 9

Fatour (the breaking of the fast) starts with dates and milk. They finish with harira, milawe, hard boiled eggs, shabekia and other sweets. Afterwards, they will drink coffee with milk or mint tea and then take a walk outside with family. Some may go to a park or concert outside. Later, the family will eat tagine and stay up longer. They sleep and then usually, will eat again before the first morning prayer before sunrise.

As you eat your meals today, take time to pray for Muslims in Europe who will be breaking the fast at sundown tonight. Ask the Father to give them a hunger for Him.

Ramadan Day 8

Children are expected to begin fasting at different times. For girls, it's when they start their periods, and for boys, it's when they experience a change in their voice. They start by fasting during the day for a week and then build up until they can fast the whole month. When they fast for the first time, the parents throw a little party for the child to encourage them to continue fasting for Ramadan.

Please pray for our friend H. He is still a little boy, but his mother was very excited that last year he choose to fast for a few hours during some of the Ramadan days. Pray that he will ask questions of his parent's religion as he grows older. May he one day learn of the one true God.

Ramadan Day 7

Pray that God will reveal himself to this family today in a new way.

Pray that God will give those who enter dreams and visions of Jesus.
