Children are expected to begin fasting at different times. For girls, it's when they start their periods, and for boys, it's when they experience a change in their voice. They start by fasting during the day for a week and then build up until they can fast the whole month. When they fast for the first time, the parents throw a little party for the child to encourage them to continue fasting for Ramadan.
Please pray for our friend H. He is still a little boy, but his mother was very excited that last year he choose to fast for a few hours during some of the Ramadan days. Pray that he will ask questions of his parent's religion as he grows older. May he one day learn of the one true God.
