Ramadan Day 18

S. is a Tunisian who owns a boulangerie (bread shop) in Brussels. He is married with six children, but his family lives in Amsterdam. He goes to see them every weekend. He has been alone in Brussels for five months trying to start up his boulangerie and his shop is not doing very well. He is very discouraged and is thinking of giving up and going back to Amsterdam after Ramadan. S. is very typical of many Muslims who come to Europe seeking a better life financially, but who come to the realization that it is very hard and expensive to make a living here.

Pray that S. would begin to seek after the only thing that could truly make his life complete: Jesus Christ.

Pray that if S. has to leave Brussels that he would have several meaningful conversations with his Christian friend here before he leaves. If he has to go back to Amsterdam, pray that he meets another Christian there who can water the seeds that have been planted in Brussels.

Ramadan Day 17

Fatiha has been living in Europe for a year with her husband and 7 year old son. It’s important to her that her son learns how to be a good man and treat women well. She’s outgoing, friendly and helpful with everybody she meets and disapproves of gossip, a favorite hobby of many women. She tries to be a good Muslim and do what is right, but admits that she’s never felt any closer to God or felt His presence during Ramadan.

Pray:
- That her son would grow up to be a Godly man, honoring Jesus Christ as Lord
- That this year, God would reveal Himself to her in the month of Ramadan
- That she would see the perfect example Christ lived and place her trust in Him

Ramadan Day 14

'A' has been in Europe for 9 years. Here is where she met her husband, fell in love and began a family. A and her husband run a store in a Muslim are of town. She is very extroverted, easy to talk to and friendly. A says she feels very close to God at night, when all is quiet. She believes life is a test and Allah is watching her, keeping track of the things she does well, and the things she does wrong.

Please pray that A would lose the peace she says she feels. Ask that she will find peace from the only true God that can save her from her sins, regardless of what good or bad things she does.

Ramadan Day 13

S (on the right) came to Europe 7 years ago engaged to a man from her country, but upon arrival he left her for another woman. Now at 28 she is learning to read and write so that she can find work to provide for herself, since her dreams of being a wife and mother seem so far away. But for the past 7 months she has been in and out of the hospital with a health condition and as a result lost her job. Her life seems to get more and more difficult each day.

Pray:
  • That she would fall in love with Jesus Christ, the man who will never leave her side.

  • That God would reveal Himself to her as the Healer like He did for the woman in Mark 5:21
